Deres boss expect Dockers' dog-fight - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Paul Gorman, the joint-manager of Erith & Belvedere, has warned his players not to expect Erith Town to roll over and die during tomorrow’s Kent League clash at Park View Road, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Doncaster born boss welcomes an Erith Town side tomorrow that have collected just five points from their 15 league outings and are at the foot of the table.

“A good friend of mine is the manager there, Mark Tompkins,” Gorman said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“Looking forward to meeting him, saying hello, having a cup of tea with him.

“I’m looking forward to the game but three points is the main thing. Hopefully we can put in a good performance and win it.”

With it being a Boxing Day derby, former Greenwich Borough man Gorman is not expecting an easy time.

“They’re bottom of the league, going to be fighting for everything, in our faces, harassing and kicking us,” he warned.

“I knew what it was like when we were at Greenwich. You’ve got to wind the boys up, it’s a derby, a good pitch to play on. They’re going to tell you it’s a good ground at Welling - just get at them and work hard.

“That’s what going to happen and hopefully my boys are up for it. I know their boys will be because Mark will wind them up, which will turn into a good game.”

Dockers’ player-boss Mark Tompkins was unavailable to comment.
