Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose: Having received interest from several full-time club’s this week, Ibra Sekajja has asked for the opportunity to pursue those possibilities to further his career

DULWICH HAMLET boss Gavin Rose says he has lost striker Ibra Sekajja, who goes in search for a full-time contract.

The Ugandan born, 24-year-old scored 16 goals for the Hamlet as they finished in third-place in the Ryman Premier League table last season.

The club were defeated 2-1 by runners-up Bognor Regis Town in the play-off final and the Rocks joined champions Havant & Waterlooville in the Vanarama National League South.

The highly-rated Sekajja was one of the 14 players on Rose’s retained list but revealed today that he has lost the services of the striker.

“Having received interest from several full-time club’s this week, Ibra Sekajja has asked for the opportunity to pursue those possibilities to further his career,” Rose told Dulwich Hamlet’s website.

“Whilst the player will be a loss to us on the field, we also take into consideration that football is a short career and have granted him his wish to try and gain a full-time contract.

“We would like to thank Ibra for his efforts over the course of last season.”

Sekajja’s previous clubs include Crystal Palace, Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Bromley.
