Tony Beckingham, Tony Cornwell and Simon Kidby leave East Grinstead Town after three months
TONY BECKINGHAM has announced his departure as the joint-manager of East Grinstead Town yesterday.
“It’s time for me to hand over the reins to Drew Cooney and wish him and the club the very best for the future,” said Beckingham.
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my football journey if and when that comes along.
“Massive thanks to all the players for an unbelievable effort.”
The Wasps went down to a 4-0 defeat at sixth-placed side Herne Bay on Saturday.
Tony Cornwell and Simon Kidby have also left College Lane and all three begin the search for new roles.
“I came in with Tony Beckingham and I leave with him, having achieved absolute miracles in less than three months,” said Kidby.
“Best wishes to Drew, the fantastic board, volunteers and fans at East Grinstead. We leave a fantastic group of lads who will continue to do us proud.”
East Grinstead Town were third-from-bottom in the Isthmian League South East Division table when Cooney and Beckingham took joint-charge on 11 November.
The Wasps had nine points from their opening 12 games but they have risen to fourteenth-place having picked up a further 19 points from their next 13 outings since.
