Ebbsfleet consider reverting to part-time status

Monday 17th May 2010
EBBSFLEET UNITED are considering going back part-time after being relegated from the Blue Square Premier.

The Fleet are currently trying to work out a budget for next season in Blue Square South after suffering relegation after eight years in the top-flight of non-league football. Chairman Duncan Holt told BBC Radio Kent: "The league we're going into is part-time. We'll be playing teams where the majority are part-time players.

"It's a very experienced league and we've got to discuss if it's better to go with experience part-time."

Mr Holt added: "I've had a conversation with Liam (Daish, manager) as to what he thinks the minimum full-time budget is. "But a full-time budget would mean an awful lot of youngsters, so we'll see what will work for us best with the budget that we've got."

Daish has been at the Kent club for five years and making the transition from a part-time to a full-time side was one of his first priorities when he arrived at Stonebridge Road.
