Ebbsfleet United open their gates for Trophy tie

Monday 19th January 2009

EBBSFLEET UNITED are delighted to announce that their FA Carlsberg Trophy third round tie against Swindon Supermarine at the end of this month will be FREE admission for both sets of supporters.

This follows a decision by the club’s owners, the MyFootballClub members, to hold a “free admission match”.

Swindon Supermarine supporters, who have seen their side beat Maidstone United and Bromley in the earlier rounds, will also be able to attend the match, at Stonebridge Road on Saturday, 31st January, free of charge.

The club would like to thank both The Football Association and Swindon Supermarine for their help in making this free admission match possible.

The match will also be broadcast live online and free of charge to oversee members of MyFootballClub.

The Fleet, holders of the FA Trophy, will be making the third defence of their crown this season, having knocked out Bognor Regis Town and Stalybridge Celtic and the winners will progress to the last eight.

When Dover Athletic opened their gates for supporters to watch their Ryman Premier League game against Tooting & Mitcham United, free-of-charge, on Tuesday, 16th December 2008, a crowd of 2,760 turned up.
