Erith Town return to Bayliss Avenue in Thamesmead after agreeing two-year deal with stadium owners Peabody

ERITH TOWN chair Kay Deveney has confirmed that the club will be playing at Bayliss Avenue again for the next two seasons.

The Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division club will be playing in Thamesmead after agreeing a deal with stadium owners Peabody.

“The club continues to grow and evolve at such a pace, both on and off the pitch, to the point where we are consistently attracting crowds larger than many of the local non-league sides,” said Deveney in a statement.

“For the club to continue that progression we have to take a long-term view and put the club in an environment and a facility that will both help us grow and encourage the local community to fully engage with us.

“With a new replacement 3G pitch being installed in the summer and new investment to improve the outside grass pitches for our expanding youth section to play on, it was a logical step to establish the whole club at SE28 and continue to raise standards to all of our teams.

“I would like to welcome all supporters old and new to SE28 and we look forward to providing the warm Dockers welcome and hospitality we are renowned for.”

Fiona Hamilton, Peabody community properties manager, added: “Peabody are pleased to welcome Erith Town to Sporting Club Thamesmead from next season.

“We are very much looking forward to working with them in the coming years and wish them all the best for the season ahead.”

Adam Woodward guided the club to a fourth-place finish last season with 74 points from their 38 league games.
