FA CARLSBERG TROPHY SECOND ROUND DRAW: EBBSFLEET TRAVEL TO DROYLSDEN
Ebbsfleet United, the counties only guaranteed representatives in the last 32 of the FA Carlsberg Trophy have been handed a long trip North if they are to reach the last 16, writes Mike Green.
On January 15th, Liam Daish's side face a long trip to face Droylsden of Blue Square Bet North, who had that remarkable FA Cup First Round replay at Brisbane Road last week when they lead League One side Leyton Orient 2-0 with 15 minutes to go before losing 8-2 after extra time!
The Fleet will be joined on the road in the next round by Tony Burman's Dartford, if they can overcome Conference high flyers Crawley Town in Tuesday's replay at Princes Park.
Ashford Town (Middlesex) - in 12th place in the Zamaretto League Division One Central - await the winners at their ground directly under the Heathrow Airport flight path.
For Jamie Day's Welling United, the reward for potentially dumping Luton Town out of the competition is a home tie against the competitions giant killers - Uxbridge - who are third from bottom in the same division as Dartford's opponents.
Both replay's will be covered by www.kentishfootball.co.uk on Tuesday night.
