FA Carlsberg Vase Fourth Round Draw: Its as clear as black ice
Monday 06th December 2010
The draw has been made for the Fourth Round of the FA Carlsberg Vase - but as none of the counties sides still in the competition didn’t play their Third Round ties last weekend due to the weather, the draw is somewhat confused and full of "either ors", writes Mike Green.
If they win, two Kent sides face home ties whilst two face trips into the unknown. If they win the rearranged game on Saturday, Herne Bay will host holders Whitley Bay or AFC Liverpool, the club set up by disillusioned Liverpool fans with the prospect of a daunting replay.
Tunbridge Wells are the other side who will be home if they win on Saturday. Martin Larkin's men will host either St Blazey or Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
The other two will get away ties if they win next week.FA cup giantkillers Hythe Town will travel yet again - this time to either Guildford City or Moneyfields, whilst the counties other remaining side Beckenham Town face a trip in the unknown and a long trip north.
Jason Huntley’s men will have to go to Causeway United in the West Midlands or Norton & Stockton Ancients in County Durham. Outstanding Third Round ties are expected to be played next Saturday, 11 December, while the national stage of the competition is scheduled for 22 January 2011.For the full draw visit www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompetitions/TheFAVase/Fixtures
