Faversham Town begin search for new manager
Faversham Town Football Club are tonight looking for a new first team manager after taking the decision to part company with current team boss Paul Copley.
Copley, 36, has paid the price following a string of disappointing results which sees Faversham Town currently sitting second from bottom of the Kent Premier League having taken only four points from the 24 that were available.
As a player Copley had a successful career playing for a string of Kent League sides before becoming a firm favourite as centre half for Conference outfit Welling United.
Club bosses discussed the current crisis at a committee meeting on Tuesday night and decided that the time was right for a change.
The team’s string of poor performances culminated in a home defeat against the league’s bottom side Slade Green.
A statement issued by the Salters Lane club, said: “The committee wish to place on record their thanks and appreciation for all of the hard work and effort that Paul Copley has shown since taking over as manager in April 2007“.
Assistant manager Bob Mason and Coach Paul Piggott will be in charge when the team visit Tunbridge Wells this coming Saturday.
The process of recruiting a new manager is already underway, CVs and applications should be forwarded to:
