Horsham YMCA will be a tough game for us. They’ve won their first two and will be full of confidence, says Fisher boss Dean Harrison

FISHER manager Dean Harrison says tomorrow’s FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie against Horsham YMCA is an interesting one.

The Fish go into the home tie sitting in eleventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having lost 1-0 at Hollands & Blair on the opening day of the season, before bouncing back with a 2-1 home win over Croydon in midweek.

“We had a tough start at Hollands & Blair last weekend, on a pitch that didn’t suit our style of football,” said Harrison.

“We huffed and puffed but didn’t take our chances. Blair had the one chance in the second half and to their credit tucked it away, that’s football!”

Harrison was delighted that his side bounced back against Craig Davies’ side on Tuesday night.

“Croydon at home on Tuesday was a totally different game of football. We were completely outplayed in the first half but for all Croydon’s possession, they only had two shots all game, scoring one of them from a free-kick.

“With their centre-back being sent-off right on half-time, we knew what needed to be done and laid siege to their goal in the second half.

“A 2-1 win with our 22 shots to Croydon’s two tells its own story!”

Fisher will travel to Bostik South East Division side Ashford United in the Preliminary Round of The FA Cup in two weeks’ time if they inflict the first defeat of the season on Horsham YMCA tomorrow.

“Horsham YMCA will be a tough game for us.  They’ve won their first two and will be full of confidence,” said Harrison.

“A good crowd is expected at St Pauls for what promises to be an interesting FA Cup tie.”
