Fisher boss Gary Lisney wants his side to show progression
Wednesday 04th August 2010
FISHER boss Gary Lisney says he wants his side to continue where they left off towards the tail end of last season - their first in the Kent League, writes Stephen McCartney.
Two amateur sides lock horns on the opening day of the season at Champion Hill on Saturday and Lisney is relishing the local derby with Greenwich Borough.
“It will be interesting to see how they’ve progressed and it will be interesting to see how we’ve progressed,” Lisney told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“The acid test is the 7th August and our result against Greenwich Borough at home and that day will prove to us quite a lot if we have progressed or not.
“It won’t be about that game but the first half a dozen games are vitally important in the league so we’ll be giving it every attention and Steve (Firkins) will, so roll on the season!”
