Fisher chairman to meet fans' to provide stadium update
Thursday 01st August 2013
FISHER boss Billy Walton is putting the finishing touches to his squad as Fisher prepare for a pre-season match with Enfield Town on Sunday (1pm).
After the match chairman Ben Westmancott will lead a supporters’ meeting in the bar at Champion Hill to update fans on the latest on the club’s plans to return to SE16.
Admission on Sunday is just £4 for adults, £2 concessions and is free for accompanied under 16s.
Fisher’s first team squad for the season is taking shape, and there are plenty of familiar faces – some returning for a second spell at Fisher – as well as some experienced new signings.
Returning from last season’s squad are goalkeeper Billy Hensman, plus Danny Akers, Billy Walton (junior), Jamie Taylor and Harvey Hanifan.
Returning for a second spell with the Fish is marauding left-back Danny Tipple, and the former Beckenham Town ace will be looking forward to linking up again with winger Chris Hubbard.
New faces at the Fish include experienced defenders Frank Bunani and Tom Hopkins, former Tunbridge Wells midfielder Darren Nash and Joe Minter, who was at Corinthian last season.
Also signing are Tom Carr, Michael Zanelli, Michael Daramola, and Fraser Walker.
Former Millwall and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Marc Bircham has signed for the Fish, although his work commitments with QPR may limit his appearances. And David Milton – a former finalist on Sky’s Football Idol – completes Walton’s signings to date.
A club statement, published on www.fisherfc.co.uk said: "A few more players are expected to put pen to paper to complete the squad by the weekend, and Sunday’s match with Enfield Town represents supporters’ last chance to see the team in action before the big kick-off."
