Fleet fans have to delve into their pockets to retain players

CASH-STRAPPED relegated club Ebbsfleet United are calling on fans to retain last season’s squad via the new “Adopt A Player” scheme.
Twelve months ago, manager Liam Daish lost all but three of his playing squad after players contracts expired and had to build a much-younger squad from scratch and despite their efforts after Christmas the Stonebridge Road club paid the ultimate price and relegation ended their eight-year stay in the top-flight of non-league football.
Fleet fans have raised almost £10,000 already in this close season via the new Adopt a Player scheme and now wish to push on and boost that total and with it the Fleet’s ability to retain squad members.
As budget realities continue to bite at Stonebridge Road, Fleet fans have pooled together to pay players' wages for the forthcoming season.
Fans can now ensure that their favourite players remain in a Fleet shirt by signing up to one of Adopt A Player's three levels of membership (bronze, silver, gold).
The individual investor chooses the position they would like to sponsor, forming a bond with the team and making sure their contributions are transparent and accountable.
Investors sign up for an Adopt a Player certificate, which is good for two seasons. There are three levels of fee - £40, £80, £120, to buy into the certificate.
After that there is a small recurring payment of £5, £10 and £15 per month, corresponding with the initial investment amount, during the first year. In year two there are no fees to be paid! Sit back and enjoy watching your player, or buy another certificate for another position.
