EBBSFLEET UNITED’S ladies side have bolstered their squad ahead of their new season, which kick’s off next month against Norwich City.
All home games are played at the club’s Stonebridge Road ground and this has enabled the side to bolster their squad ahead of the visit of the Canaries on Sunday, 19 September (2pm).
“We are currently seeking new players to enhance the current playing squad,” said club spokeswoman Tina Martin, when speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“With first team positions available, maybe its time for a change or something new, an opportunity to play every week in the third tier of women’s football, where our opposition includes Tottenham, Norwich, Ipswich and Luton Town.
“All the ladies home league games are played at Stonebridge Road, so an unusual bonus within the women’s game to play within a superb stadium facility.”
The Fleet have unveiled five new signings, as Vicky Moore (Charlton Athletic), Chelsea Fowler (West Ham Ladies), Lauren Marsh (West Ham Academy), Siobhan Read (Ashford) and Jamie Welch (Dartford Ladies) have put pen to paper for Kevin Shrimpton’s side.
“We are delighted at the return of Vicky, after a short break from the game,” added Tina Martin.
“Her enthusiasm and desire to play well and win is infectious and we believe she will have a huge impact on her return this season.
“Chelsea is a Fleet Ladies latest signing and shows the club is moving in the right direction. Her playing ability as well as her determined and professional approach will be a welcome addition to the squad.
“Lauren is our youngest squad member, just transferring from youth football, where she has been at West Ham academy as well as training with our Ebbsfleet’s youth squad, she has fitted straight into the ladies side and is working hard in training and developing her game.
“Jamie has a good strong background in the game as a Millwall youngster and has joined us from Dartford Ladies, she is a great addition to the Fleet defence and will hopefully enjoy the challenge of playing higher league football this season.
“Siobhan has shown an enthusiasm and desire to compete and play at this level, getting involved in every moment of the game, she will be a very strong addition to the squad.”
