Folkestone Invicta Help The Heroes

Monday 29th March 2010
FOLKESTONE INVICTA is to play host to a Folkestone Academy Charity game on Wednesday for the Help For Heroes Fund.

The game, which will kick off at 2pm, will consist of the Folkestone Academy Teachers team playing against the Folkestone Academy Sixth Form team.

The Academy teachers team are being sponsored by Brakes food company.

The 6th Form team will be sponsored by Charlton Athletic, who have donated kit and balls for the game.

Folkestone Invicta chairman, Lynn Woods, and secretary Neil Pilcher, have been described as “outstanding” in letting the Academy use the club and facilities at Cheriton Road.

All money raised will go to Help For Heroes.

A one-minute silence will be held in memory of Rifleman Peter Aldridge - who Invicta are dedicating a game to in just over three weeks' time.

Medals and a trophy will be given out at the end of the game by the Academy Principle.

There is no entrance fee but numerous 6th Form pupils will be present on the gates with Help for Heroes collection buckets so of course any donations are welcome. Stickers will also be given out and wristbands sold so please support this brilliant cause.

The club confirmed that Saturday’s bucket collection for Sport Relief at the weekend raised £150.53.

Before that, however, Folkestone Invicta welcome Merstham to Cheriton Road on Tuesday night for a Ryman League Division One South fixture.
