GLEBE manager Gary Alexander says his side will be looking to progress through to the Third Round of The FA Vase on Saturday.

Glebe travel to Fisher, a side that extended their unbeaten run to six games since Ajay Ashanike replaced Allan Fenn on Wednesday 2 October 2019.

Glebe arrive at St Paul’s Stadium sitting in sixth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 20 points from their 11 games.

Fisher, meanwhile, are sitting in the bottom five, having collected 11 points from their 13 league outings.

The two sides met in Chislehurst on Tuesday night, with the game finishing all square at 1-1.

“Fisher in The FA Vase, is a game both sides will be looking forward to as a run in this cup means so much with everyone hoping to progress,” said Alexander, who takes charge of Glebe for the 12th time.

“Having played them on Tuesday we saw the quality Fisher have in some of their players and a real knowledgeable manager who was helping them and constantly shouting quality instructions, he sure does get them fired up, so we’re in for another real tough game.

“Taking nothing away from Fisher, our performance was below par. We moved the ball slowly with no purpose and didn’t create enough and our energy levels were not high enough and overall it was a poor performance from us.

“Having said that, I know and trust in the quality we have so it’s all about how we respond on Saturday.

“Over the last few weeks' there have been plenty of comings and goings within our squad. We’re all getting to know each other and as time goes by hopefully understanding one each other’s game we become a better team so the future’s bright for Glebe.
