Goldberg continues with his squad building

BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg has added more players to his squad as the Hayes Lane club prepare for their second Blue Square South campaign.

Goldberg is delighted to confirm that both Karl Murray and Liam Harwood have become the latest additions at Hayes Lane.

Goldberg believes the experience of Murray will be a valued asset this season.

He told www.bromleyfc.net : “Karl has played over 100 games for Shrewsbury Town and over 130 games for Woking. Karl has the ability to find the killer pass but is also a goalscoring threat from midfield.”

Goldberg has managed to sign Harwood from Ryman Premier League side Carshalton Athletic, beating off the attentions of Coca-Cola League One outfit Bristol Rovers.

“Liam is someone I’ve been after for a while now,” said Goldberg. “He’s young and is a great addition to our defensive line.

“I’m especially pleased to have signed him as Bristol Rovers have been expressing interest in him.”

Striker Warren McBean, meanwhile, has turned his back on Sutton United and has signed a contract with Bromley and Dartford striker, Jay May, 22, has agreed terms with Goldberg but not yet put pen to paper - at the time that the article was written by www.bromleytimes.co.uk.

Both transfers will go to tribunal to decide the fee as both are under 24.

"Warren is a player I have been following for years now," Goldberg told www.bromleytimes.co.uk.  "He has caused us all sorts of problems in the past when he featured for teams that played against us.

"Jay May had an excellent season with Dartford. He is in the mould of Nic McDonnell except he is younger."

Goldberg is now confident he only has to fill the left-back berth before his squad is ready for another season in the Blue Square South.

Sam Wood, who played with distinction in that position for the last two seasons, has left for Brentford and replacing him is now a priority.

The Lillywhites look set to be without the services of Tutu Henriques next season after South African Premier Soccer League outfit Supersport United offered the ambitious winger a trial.

"You get to a crossroads in your life and I could have carried on with my comfortable career here, but the opportunity is too good to pass up," Henriques said.
