SAM GORE has become the latest player to sign a new contract with the Whites. The popular Dovorian has signed for another season, writes Justin Allen.

Chairman Jim Parmenter told www.doverathletic.com : "We're pleased Sam is staying on board. He's a young player, a local lad - and someone who has got potential.

"Andy was impressed with him and we're only too pleased that he sees his future at Crabble."

Meanwhile, in other news from the Blue Square South newcomers, Mr Parmenter revealed that the club will boast yet another playing surface at Crabble, which will aid more championship winning football.

"The work on the pitch was completed over the weekend by new contractors," he said.

"We have subsoil down to a meter to improve drainage, 50 tons of root zone has been spread following by levelling.

"Grass seed (the same type as used at Spurs) has been sewn in three directions after hollow tyne coring, to allow the seed to be mixed with the existing turf then fertilizer was applied.

"All of this represents a significant investment by the club in ensuring we will have one of the best playing surfaces in the league again in the coming season."
