Gore re-signs for his home-town club
Sam Gore has come back home to Dover Athletic after his release from Gillingham this summer, writes Justin Allen.
The left-sided defender becomes Andy Hessenthaler's fourth summer signing.
Gore, who lives in River, just two minutes away from Crabble, put pen to paper today after Whites beat off the challenge of Welling United and several other clubs for his signature.
The 18-year-old told www.doverathletic.com: "I'm delighted to be back. With Hess and Darren Hare in charge, it wasn't a difficult decision to make.
"I want to be part of a successful side this year and can't wait to report to pre-season training."
Gore came through the Dover youth scheme - but was signed by Gillingham on scholarship forms two years ago. However, he was released this summer and Whites chief Hessenthaler was quick to snap him up.
