We have to be at our best at Carshalton, says Greenwich Borough boss Gary Alexander
GREENWICH BOROUGH boss Gary Alexander says his side must be at their best against fellow promotion chasers Carshalton Athletic tomorrow.
Tooting & Mitcham United occupy the sole promotion place in the Ryman League Division One South table with 83 points in the bag, with 10 league games left to play.
Dorking Wanderers have consolidated second-place for a large chunk of the season and are only three points adrift in a two-horse race for the title.
Greenwich Borough, who won the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division title and are playing at this level for the first time in their history, follow in third-place, with 69 points from 35 games.
Peter Adeniyi’s Carshalton Athletic side follow in fourth with 67 points from their 37 games, while Hastings United occupy the final play-off berth with 66 points from 36 games.
“We have another big week ahead of us with teams all in and around the play-offs starting tomorrow at Carshalton, who are a very good side and after 37 league games are up there,” said Alexander
“I’m expecting a tough game but we go there in form after nine points from our previous three games so the boys are full of confidence and hopefully the run continues but we will have to be at our best on their astro.”
