Herne Bay strengthen their squad
BARRY MORGAN has silenced Herne Bay’s doom and gloom merchants by delivering some new signings ahead of the new Kent League campaign, writes Stephen McCartney.
Disgruntled Herne Bay supporters have voiced their disapproval at the club for failing to keep hold of players’ from last season’s squad, but manager Morgan, who takes over from Jason Lillis, has been able to strengthened his squad.

Striker Danny Lawrence makes a welcomed return following a season at neighbouring Ryman League Division One South Whitstable Town.
Simon Moore, a player who can play in central defence or the right side of midfield, has signed from Ryman Premier League outfit Ramsgate.
Central midfielder Darren Marsden and left-sided midfielder Louis Taylor have both arrived from their Kent League rivals Lordswood, while former Folkestone Invicta defender Will Dunlop arrives from Hythe Town.
Morgan, speaking to www.hernebayfc.net, said: “In addition we have Aaron Burrett and Andy Forster both making excellent recoveries from injuries which, in Aaron’s case, threatened to force his retirement from the game.”
Morgan is expected to add further signings shortly, adding: “The club’s management and administration has never been stronger and it would be a great encouragement to hear a little more from supporters, who are looking forward to the season ahead.”
Meanwhile, the club insist their pitch at Winch’s Field will recover after being scorched by fertiliser.
“These areas look unsightly at the moment but we are assured that the scorching will recover given a bit of time and more rain,” said a club statement on www.hernebayfc.net
