Hollands & Blair boss Bryan Greenfield: If we can keep that level of performance that we showed on Saturday, then we’ll be fine

Sunday 27th August 2017

HOLLANDS & BLAIR manager Bryan Greenfield says his side should have collected at least a point against Whitstable Town.

The Oysterman came away from Darland Avenue with a 2-1 win yesterday, which leaves Blair as one of three club’s on zero points in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table.

“We didn’t deserve to lose the game on Saturday and the very minimum we deserved was a point out of it,” said the manager.

“We’ve had a tough run of fixtures considering the players we have missing. However, the boys have been a credit to themselves in how hard they’ve worked against these teams and we’re not far away from getting it right as a group.”

Greenfield, with only Erith Town and Chatham Town below them in the table, takes his side to second-place Corinthian on Bank Holiday Monday.

Michael Golding’s side have beaten Croydon (2-0), Bearsted (1-0) and Tunbridge Wells (3-1) in the league and are second in the table, behind Canterbury City.

“We go to Corinthian on Monday, who have played three and won three so we are under no illusions how tough a game we face,” said Greenfield.

“We’ve obviously still to get our first points of the season on the board and our first victory but if we can keep that level of performance that we showed on Saturday, then we’ll be fine.”
