Work on installing Hollands & Blair's artificial playing surface at Star Meadow close to completion

HOLLANDS & BLAIR will be hosting a community day to celebrate the opening of the club’s newly-laid artificial pitch.

The Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division club have been playing their home games at nearby Lordswood while the improvement works have been undertaken.

“After a couple of delays thanks to the freezing temperatures in December and January, the installation of the new artificial pitch is set to be completed today,” said a statement.

“The relevant authorities arrive to test and sign-off the pitch tomorrow.  Some final work is also required on the site before the pitch can be opened; namely the installation of some more fencing and general tidying up of the facility and the surrounding areas.

“Work is also continuing on re-installing the seated spectator areas, which will be placed on the south and east sides of the facility.”
