Holmesdale boss Lee Roots brings in Luke Johnson as his joint-assistant manager

HOLMESDALE manager Lee Roots has appointed Luke Johnson as his new joint-assistant manager.

The Bromley-based club finished their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaign in 12^th place, having picked up 48 points from their 38 league games.

“I am over the moon to have finalised and now secured Luke to the club and my management staff,” said Roots.

“Me and Luke have been supporting each other for many years now inside and outside of football and after a year out spending time with his family, it really now is the perfect time for Luke to return back into the dug-outs.

“I feel very fortunate that we have been able to secure Luke’s services and I know this addition will now give us an even greater base needed to continue to build on our good work and to really push on next season.”

A club statement welcomes the former Farnborough Old Boys Guild manager to Oakley Road.

“Lee Roots and Luke Johnson have a fantastic footballing and personal history together and Luke has achieved many accolades within football already during his own time in management at Farnborough Old Boys Guild.

“Luke boasts an impressive CV and will add a total new dynamic and energy into the management staff and first-team squad.”

Roots, meanwhile, has retained the services of coach John Coleman, who has been appointed joint-assistant manager alongside Johnson and goalkeeper coach Adam Porter, who moves into his fifth season at the club.
