Hume hit with six-match touchline ban

Thursday 30th July 2009
MAIDSTONE UNITED have confirmed that joint-manager Lloyd Hume faces a six-match touchline ban, following an incident towards the end of last season.

Hume appeared before a disciplinary commission of the Football Association to answer a charge of misconduct following an incident during the half-time interval against Hendon on 11 April 2009.

Following a thorough two hour hearing at Soho Square, the commission adjudged that Hume was guilty of the office and fined him a total of £50.

There were no other conditions placed on him as a result of this offence.

However, a pre-existing condition of a suspended six-match touchline ban because activated as a result of this hearing and Hume will serve a touchline ban for the first six competitive games of this season.

Chairman Paul Bowden-Brown issued the following statement on the club’s website www.maidstoneunited.co.uk.

He said: “I am not questioning the decision made by the Football Association and am disappointed that Lloyd will not be fully involved with the first six fixtures of the new season.

“That said, he has my full support and I’m sure he and Alan (Walker) will make the appropriate arrangements during his touchline ban."
