I can absolutely guarantee our supporters that our performances will be better, says Fisher boss

FISHER boss Gary Lisney says he wants his battered and beaten side to bounce back against fellow strugglers Deal Town on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.
Fisher slumped to their largest ever home defeat since reforming when Tunbridge Wells came away from Champion Hill with a 5-0 win on Monday night and they welcome a Deal Town side on Saturday that have won only one game in their last 13 league outings.
He said: “I’ve just said to my players, tonight’s done, dusted, there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s all over. We got beat so comprehensively beaten but Saturday’s a whole different ball game so let’s pick up Saturday where we picked off against Hythe and put this down to a very bad day at the office.”
Lisney was clearly upset with the poor performance against Martin Larkin’s side, who secured victory thanks to goals from Steve Ashmore, Perry Spackman, Keelan Mooney and two from Carl Cornell, who has now scored 22 goals this season.
Fisher will slump to second-from-bottom in the Kent League if Holmesdale avoid a defeat at vastly improved Sporting Bengal United tonight - as the two basement sides clash at the Mile End Stadium.
When asked about his target for their last remaining seven games of the season, Lisney replied, “I’m frightened to say to be fair. We could set targets about trying to win games of football. I’ve said to my players, it’s not about results. Even if we win our last seven games we’re going to end up mid-table
“I’m frightened to set any targets, about trying to win games of football. I’ve said to my players, many, many weeks ago, it’s not about results funnily and honest enough. If we win our last seven game of the leagu,e we’re going to end up midtable or whatever.
“Number one priority for me is performance and that’s probably why I feel so disappointed and upset about tonight because our performance was so atrocious, so I’ve got no aspirations about making predictions about what we’ll do for the next seven games.
“I can absolutely guarantee our supporters that the performances will be better than the last one!”
