I can no longer commit to the rigours of playing for Ramsgate in the Ryman League, says Liam Quinn

LIAM QUINN says he can no longer commit time to playing Ryman League Division One South football with Ramsgate next season.

The influential skipper has decided to part company from the Southwood Stadium club to spend more time with his young family.

Quinn, who previously played for Dover Athletic and Whitstable Town, issued a statement on the club’s official website www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk.

He said: “I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the fans and people involved with Ramsgate for your support over the last three seasons.

“Unfortunately they were not as successful as we all would have hoped but there have been some good times and performances.

“Unfortunately I can no longer commit to the rigours of playing for Ramsgate in the Ryman League.

“I want to spend more time at home with my family so training twice a week and travelling to places like Bognor and Worthing are just no do-able for me anymore.

“But trust me, the club is in safe hands with the players it has and with Tim (Dixon) and Darren (Beale) at the helm, and I’m sure there will be good times at the club very soon.

“Just wanted to say thank you to Jim Ward for bringing me to the club and for making me captain, an honour I have thoroughly enjoyed!”

Quinn made 45 appearances for the Rams last season, scoring two goals.
