I can't wait to get started at a quality club, says new Bromley coach Hugo Langton

BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg has today appointed Hugo Langton as his new coach.


The Conference South club have strengthened their coaching staff by retaining Neil Smith and appointing Langton.

Langton, 38, who lives in Tonbridge, has previously coached Gillingham Ladies, Rusthall, Holmesdale, Ashford Town, Thamesmead Town, Horsham (including a spell as manager) and Herne Bay.

He joined Herne Bay in June 2012 to coach the side alongside manager Simon Halsey for the club’s inaugural Ryman League Division One South campaign, but left Winch’s Field in February 2013 to answer a call from Sean Ray to coach Hastings United, but the pair couldn’t prevent the club suffering relegation at the end of last season.

Langton, who is employed full-time to coach Thamesmead Town’s Academy, where he will coach the second years next season, is looking forward to working at Hayes Lane.

He said: “What a great opportunity for me to work with two first-class football people in Mark Goldberg and Neil Smith at a quality club.

“I can’t wait to get started and support them both.”

Bromley open their pre-season campaign when League Two champions Gillingham visit Hayes Lane on Saturday 6 July (3pm).

Langton’s first game at Bromley will be a special occasion for him personally because he’s a Gillingham fan.
