I'm excited about being an integral part of a young Cambridge United side, says Harrison Dunk

BROMLEY defender Harrison Dunk has today agreed a two-year deal with Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Cambridge United.

Following a stellar 2010/11 season in which he scooped the Bromley supporters', managers' and committees' player of the year awards, Dunk, 20, has decided against signing a new deal with the Kent club and has instead headed to seemingly greener pastures.

"Harrison is an exciting young talent and we are delighted to have secured his services," Cambridge United manager Jez George told the club's official website www.cambridge-united.co.uk.
"We first saw him play towards the end of last season and were so impressed that we closely monitored his performances since.

"Harrison is quick, naturally left footed and we see him being able to play primarily as a wide left but also offering cover to James Jennings at left back.

"He fits into our ethos of developing young talented players whether from our own youth scheme or someone we have identified at another club," added George.

Dunk, who is Cambridge United’s third summer signing, admitted his delight at having made the move up to the Blue Square Bet Premier division.

He said: "I'm delighted to sign, after having spoken to Jez. I'm excited by his plans for the season in developing a young but successful side in which I want to be an integral part.

"I've heard Cambridge has a great fan base with a great history and so I can't wait for the new season to start."

Bromley have begun the search for a new manager, following Hayden Bird’s resignation yesterday.
