It's a wrench to leave Fisher, admits assistant manager Bryan Glover
Monday 30th August 2010
FISHER assistant manager Bryan Glover has today tendered his resignation to the board, which the Kent League club has regretfully accepted.
Glover told the official website www.fisherfc.co.uk tonight; “This isn’t a decision that I’ve made lightly, in truth it’s a wrench to leave as I love this club and have many friends here, but at the age of 22 I want to concentrate on playing rather than coaching at this time.
“It’s been an invaluable experience and I’d like to thank Gary (Lisney) for giving me the opportunity.
“I’ve gone on to get all my coaching badges and in time becoming a football manager really appeals to me,
“It’s been an honour to represent this club and I wish all at the Fish the very best for the future.”
Club secretary Joe Arif added: “I was very disappointed to receive Bryan’s resignation tonight but I respect his decision. Bryan is a talented player and has a bright future ahead of him – on behalf of the board I’d like to thank Bryan for all his hard work both on and off the pitch over the last year or so and wish him every success in the future.
Fisher Manager Gary Lisney continued: “Bryan will be a big loss to us, the supporters know that as well as anyone as he was voted player of the year last term. We’ve known each other a long time and I know he will do well and have a good career, I wish Bryan the all the very best for the future.”
Fisher player/coach Kris Hollidge has tonight been promoted to assistant manager, an announcement on the new team captain will be posted in due course.
The news followed the club’s 4-2 home defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Beckenham Town today.
