It's not going to be a walk in the park against Chipstead, warns Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders

Chipstead arrive in Kent sitting in ninth-place in the Ryman League Division One South table, with seventeen points from 11 games.

They came away from Sittingbourne with a 2-2 draw at the weekend, courtesy of a last minute penalty from substitute Connor French, who came on as a substitute for former Margate and Dartford target man Rob Haworth, who scored their first.

Third-placed Maidstone United can reclaim top spot with a home win over the Surrey side on Tuesday night to leapfrog over leaders Crawley Down Gatwick and Faversham Town, who welcome the Stones to Salters Lane next Saturday.

The Stones will welcome Grays Athletic or Whitehawk in the final qualifying round of The FA Carlsberg Trophy, following their comfortable 3-2 win at Bedford Town at the weekend.

Saunders revealed he has a dilemma over which players will form his strike force  tomorrow night.

He said: “We’ll look at it on Tuesday. Obviously it gives me a tough decision with someone like Boothy (Paul Booth) banging in goals at the moment, but Dracys (Ian Draycott) scored on Saturday and we’ll look at it again.
 
“Boothy has had a groin problem. He wasn’t sure if he should play Tuesday but we really wanted him to and he scored a couple of goals, but he knows his body best and rang me on Friday to say he wasn’t right. 

“Michael Phillips was resting a knock, but at the moment we’ve got strength in depth, so we’ve got cover.”

Looking ahead to the game, Saunders said: “I’ve had a report on them since The FA Cup game and they’ve signed a few people.

“It’s going to be a tough game and the boys know that. But if anyone thinks it’s going to be a walk in the part, it’s not. It will be a tough game.

“Hopefully it will be a good crowd there getting behind the boys and we can carry on this good run.

“We’ve enjoyed the Trophy win and we’ll get ourselves right for Tuesday.”
