I want more goals from Fazakerley, says Day

WELLING UNITED player-manager Jamie Day says he wants to get more out of winger Loui Fazakerley, who signed a new contract with the club on Monday, writes Stephen McCartney.

Fazakerley, who joined the Wings from their Blue Square South neighbours Bromley in October 2008, scored only two goals in 33 appearances last season, as the Kent side finished in ninth place in the table.

The attacking winger started his football career in the youth teams of West Ham United and Leyton Orient before spending three years with Fulham.

He then dropped down to play for Eastbourne Borough in 2004 before having spells with Leyton, Bishop’s Stortford and Bromley.

“I’m really pleased that Loui has decided to stay for next season,” Day told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“I think his work rate and effort brings a lot to our side.  We just need some more goals next season from him.”

When asked about potential new faces arriving at Park View Road, Day replied,
“We are in advanced stages with two strikers and a defender.”

Day is meeting club officials today to finalise the Wings’ pre-season campaign.
