I want someone to get my players into shape, says Sittingbourne joint-boss Jim Ward

SITTINGBOURNE joint-manager Jim Ward says he needs a coach to get his squad into shape.

The Bourne Park outfit, who finished third-from-bottom in the Ryman League Division One South last season, appointed former Ramsgate pair Jim and Danny Ward as their joint-manager’s last month and Jim Ward would ideally like a player-coach to fit into his budget.

“Sittingbourne require a player coach,” said the 60-year-old.

“I’m on the look-out for somebody who fancies doing a bit of coaching and still playing as well.

“I want someone to get my players’ into shape. I want somebody to get them nice and fit, all the basics that always have worked with me and Danny.

“The lad we wanted to do it for us, he cannot commit so there’s an opportunity for somebody else, so I’m prepared to have a chat with anybody who fancies it.”

Ward would consider taking on a coach if it fits into his budget.

Ward will find out tomorrow whether he will be able to unveil a couple more signings.
