I haven’t been myself or had Balham watched, so there’s a bit of an unknown quantity to us really, says K Sports boss Barry Morgan

K SPORTS manager Barry Morgan says he knows nothing about Balham ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup Preliminary Round tie.

Balham are in fourteenth-place in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South table.

Greg Cruttwell’s side started their campaign with a 3-1 away defeat to much-fancied side Walton & Hersham before beating Canterbury City 3-0 in The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round two weeks ago.

Balham were then held to a goal-less draw at Knaphil last time out.

K Sports, meanwhile, are in tenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table.

The Aylesford-based side beat newly-promoted side Holmesdale 1-0 on the opening day of the season before holding Tunbridge Wells to a 2-2 draw a couple of days later.

K Sports knocked out their league rivals Rusthall out of The FA Cup by beating them 3-1 at Cobdown before Morgan’s side went down to a 3-1 defeat at dark horses and new league leaders Erith & Belvedere on Tuesday night.

Morgan said:  “Our last game away at Erith & Belvedere was quite a tight affair. We went there to put in a performance, rather than just trying to win a point, and it worked quite well.

“We gifted our opponents one of their goals and had two disallowed and we were quite disappointed to come away with nothing, but that’s football.

“Hopefully, we can get a bit more luck away from home this week.”

Balham were a brief Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side last season, before returning to their natural terrotory, the Combined Counties League.

“It’s always a tough one away from home in The FA Cup, so hopefully we can come away with a win,” added former Rochester United boss Morgan.

“I haven’t been myself or had them watched, so there’s a bit of an unknown quantity to us really.

“We’re missing a few, then getting a couple back every week at the moment, so as long as everyone do their jobs, we should have half a chance.

“One thing’s for sure, we’ll be going all out to win as there’s nothing better than a run in The FA Cup.

“Last week was our first defeat of the season, so a victory would put us nicely back on the winning road.

“Although we have a lot of youngsters, we also have a fair few experienced players, who I’ll be looking at to set the standards.”
