Jimmy Bullard leaves Leatherhead: It’s been emotional, thanks for the memories
JIMMY BULLARD has decided to leave his managerial role at Leatherhead to pursue a full-time role in football.
“Leatherhead Football Club would like to thank Jimmy for all he has done, enjoying a great final run in which saw Tanners survive relegation and finish 13th in the table,” said a club statement.
“We wish Jimmy every success in his football management career and thank you for the great times seen at The Grove in 2016/17.”
Chairman Richard Brady tweeted: “Wishing Jimmy Bullard all the best in his next move! Loved it, unreal! It’s been emotional, thanks for the memories.”
Bullard, who played Premier League football for Fulham and Hull City, was appointed Leatherhead manager on 17 September 2016.
The Surrey club were second-from-bottom in the Ryman Premier League table when Bullard took over but finished in thirteenth-place with 57 points, finishing four points clear of the relegation zone, which was occupied by Harrow Borough, Canvey Island, AFC Sudbury and Grays Athletic.
Harrow Borough received a get-out-of-jail card as they received a reprieve from relegation so will retain their league status next season.
