Lewes winger Ollie Tanner turns down a move to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur after failing to agree personal terms

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR have been turned down by Lewes winger Ollie Tanner, 19, over personal terms.

The Premier League club – without a league title since 1961 – put in a reported bid of £100,000 for the former Arsenal youngster and Bromley player – only for Tanner to turn them down.

“Lewes Football Club would like to confirm that whilst the club and a Premier League club agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Ollie Tanner, Ollie and the Premier Club were not ultimately able to agree personal terms and he remains a Lewes FC player,” said a club statement last night.

Tanner missed yesterday’s Isthmian League Premier Division 3-1 defeat at Hornchurch through an injury that he sustained in midweek.

Tony Russell’s side are in fourth-place in the table with 50 points from 28 games, eight points adrift of league leaders Worthing.

Lewes play in the seventh-tier of English football.
