Liam Daish signs new one-year contract

Friday 27th May 2011
EBBSFLEET UNITED are delighted to announce that Liam Daish has signed a contract that sees him managing the club until June 2012.

This has come on the back of a truly sensational season which saw his team claim their position back in the Blue Square Bet Premier after just one season.

Daish, who joined the club in February 2005, has already made sure that many of the squad from last season will be returning to the club, which will for the first time for several seasons mean that the club starts with players on contacts for the new season within days of the end of the old one.

Chairman Phil Sonsara told www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk: “Having Liam on board at the club will give everyone a huge lift.  He is pivotal to ensuring we keep the team together and that the success the club has tasted  this year has the very best chance of continuing.

“Liam adds much more to the football club than just managing the team, his all round football experience around marketing and other areas certainly adds tremendous value and we are grateful that he is prepared to share this with the board.

“Liam is hugely popular with the supporters of the club, they admire the skill that he has shown over the past seasons where he has had to re-build the team from scratch.  They also admire the fact that he readily gives the credit for this year’s success to the team.  He recently said, “the players have been incredible for me, with their willingness to bounce back from adversity.”

The club have announced defenders Joe Howe and Derek Duncan, Greek midfielder Giannoulis Fakinos and strikers Scott Ginty and Ricky Shakes have all put pen to paper to remain at Stonebridge Road.

They join Preston Edwards, Craig Stone, Paul Lorraine, Tom Phipp, Ram Marwa, Michael West and Clint Easton, who all re-signed earlier.
