Londoners released by Ramsgate
Tuesday 05th September 2006
Ramsgate have confirmed today that they have released summer signings Ryan Bernard and Warren Waugh. Barnard, who signed from Cheshunt, played just 27 minutes of Ryman Premier League football under boss Jim Ward, and Waugh, who joined from Leatherhead, made just two appearances for the Thanet side.
“They are both good footballers,” Ward told www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk. “However, it did not work out for the pair of them at Ramsgate.
“We of course wish them both well for the future and they are always welcome at the club.”
The news of the two Londoners leaving comes within 24 hours of Ward re-signing striker Mo Takaloo from Ryman League Division One South outfit Maidstone United.
Meanwhile, Ramsgate’s new floodlights will be used for the first time tonight, as Ramsgate welcome Billericay Town to Southwood Stadium.
The lights will be switched on by club president and former Ramsgate Schoolboys’ footballer Lord Pendry, and Ryman League secretary Mr Nick Robinson will also be present.
The game kick’s off at 7:45pm.
