We go into this game full of confidence and know the job in hand and what we need to do to progress, which is the aim, of course, says Lordswood boss Richard Styles
LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says he wants his side to take advantage of being at home against in-form Bracknell Town tomorrow.
The Lords meet the third-place Hellenic League Premier Division side in The Buildbase FA Vase Third Round.
Bracknell arrive at Martyn Grove on a 10 match unbeaten run, winning their last five and have scored an impressive 60 goals in their 18 league outings.
Lordswood were knocked out of the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy in the Second Round by Sheppey United last weekend, losing the home game by three goals to nil.
Styles said: “I wasn’t at the game on Saturday against Sheppey because of an overnight family emergency, but we rested a lot of the more experienced players and managed the squad correctly.
“The result wasn’t what we wanted but it was a lot closer game than the scoreline says from everyone I have spoken to.”
Victory for Lordswood tomorrow will take the club into the last 32 of The FA Vase and Styles insists his side are ready.
He said: “We go into tomorrow’s game ready and well prepped from a good week’s training.
“I’m very pleased to have a home draw for the club after four away games in the previous rounds.
“We go into this game full of confidence and know the job in hand and what we need to do to progress, which is the aim, of course.
“We want to win the game . I have full belief in my squad and our ability and we’ll do all we can.
“No team at this stage of the competition will be a bad side and we’ll have to be at our best, we know that.”
Lordswood have come away from Arundel (4-0); Billingshurst (2-1); Spelthorne Sports (1-0) and Southall (2-1) to reach this stage of the competition.
Bradley Webb, meanwhile, is cup-tied.
