Lordswood boss Richard Styles: Erith have picked up recently and got some results so we know we need to be at our best
LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says his side are ready for a busy month of fixtures.
Lordswood are in sixth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 39 points and are eight points adrift of leaders Sevenoaks Town, who have four games in hand.
Styles’ side travel to Crayford tomorrow to play fifteenth-placed side Erith Town, before locking horns with local rivals Chatham Town next Tuesday in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals.
“Tomorrow we play Erith Town away, which we know will be a tough game at VCD,” said Styles, who’s side are now five games unbeaten.
“Erith have picked up recently and got some results so we know we need to be at our best.
“We gave prepared well this week at training as the game on Wednesday against Deal Town was called off.”
Reflecting on their 3-1 win at Glebe, Styles said: “Last week against Glebe was a very pleasing result and a tough game to win away from home. We were delighted with the three points and they were fully deserved with the performance and shift the boys put in.
“We come into the business end of the season now and nothing has changed. We simply go game-to-game and prepare right and set-up in a way to get the three points.
“We’re still in a Quarter-Final and the league table is very tight and a few wins or losses could change everything.
“The squad is a credit to me and they’re working very hard week-in-week-out. We have no injury worries ahead of tomorrow’s game. We’re looking forward to the game ahead of what is a big month with a lot of matches.”
