LORDSWOOD boss Richard Styles says his side travel to play Southall on Sunday full of confidence for their FA Vase Second Round.

Lordswood go into the game sitting in the top-six in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having collected 25 points from 14 league games, six points adrift of leaders Sevenoaks Town.

Southall, who hire Burnham’s ground, play one level lower than Lordswood but they go into the game sitting proudly at the top of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One table, unbeaten in 14 league games.

“We go into the game knowing it’s going to be a tough one and a good challenge for us, but at the same time we know what we have to do and are focused towards doing that to win the game and get into the next round,” said Styles.

“The FA Vase is a great competition and one that we want to remain in for as long as possible.

“These are the games that players want to be playing in at this level, because of the size of it as well as the excitement of getting into the draw on Monday for the next round.

“We go into the game on the back of a very good 1-0 win and performance against Sheppey United, a game that we deserved to win and one that I was very pleased with our levels of performance.

“It gives us the confidence going into Sunday’s game and we’ll just keep doing what we are doing.

“The season has started well for us and that goes down to the hard work the players, my staff and myself have put in since the summer.

“We keep moving forward and progressing week by week,” added Styles, who is without the cup-tied Bradley Webb.
