It has been a tough week for everyone at Lordswood, says boss Richard Styles

Friday 11th August 2017

LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says his side will pay tribute to a committee member who passed away leading up to their trip to Tunbridge Wells tomorrow.

Lordswood were knocked out of The FA Cup after losing 1-0 to newly-promoted side Glebe in the Extra Preliminary Round last Saturday.  Fred Obasa ensured the Chislehurst based club celebrated winning their first FA Cup tie.

Styles will take his side to Tunbridge Wells tomorrow to open their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaign.

“Looking forward to getting going tomorrow against Tunbridge Wells,” he said.

“We were there towards the end of last season. Team wise we have a few minor fitness tests before the game but we have a full squad available for the game.

“It has been a tough week for everyone to do with the club with the sad passing of committee member and Mr Lordswood himself, Dennis Caulfield.

“Personally, he has done a lot for me and given me a lot of support during my time playing and managing Lordswood and I’ll never forget that!

“The players have been close together this week and strong, as well as training and we’re ready to get the three points for Den tomorrow.”
