We are where we are through our own doing and it’s down to us to put it right before the season ends, vows Lordswood boss Richard Styles
LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says he wants to climb the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table by the end of the season.
They are in twelfth-place in the table with 35 points on the board with 14 games remaining and bounced back from their 2-0 defeat at K Sports by beating their local-rivals Hollands & Blair 3-1 on Tuesday night.
Styles said: “It was a good win but we aren’t getting ahead of ourselves and know we need to keep our performance levels up to get points and move us up the table.”
Styles takes his side to Otham tomorrow to lock horns with ninth-placed Bearsted.
“These are always close encounters and I expect tomorrow to be no different,” said Styles.
“They watched us on Tuesday where we had a number of players missing, so I look forward to those being back in contention tomorrow.
“We’ll be set-up in a way that I feel gives us the best chance to win the game and then it’s down to the boys to do the business.
“We’ve had a few players out with knocks recently but we’ve been able to manage and nurse them back fit for the upcoming games.
“We have a lot of games coming up with a busy February and March and it’s down to us to perform as we know we can to put points on the board and go on a run.
“We have a great changing room, the togetherness is there for all to see. The group are a credit to work with but we are where we are through our own doing and it’s down to us to put it right before the season ends.”
