Lordswood boss Darren Anslow steps down due to work and family commitments

LORDSWOOD begin the search for a new manager after Darren Anslow stepped down from the role with immediate effect today.

 

Anslow, who works full-time within the Academy at National League club Bromley, took the reins last June, taking over from Richard Styles who had departed for their league rivals Tunbridge Wells after three seasons in charge at Martyn Grove.

Anslow guided Lordswood to thirteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus shutdown with 10 games left to play.

During his 26 league games in charge, Anslow oversaw nine wins, five draws and 12 defeats.

Assistant manager Owen Price also left the club last week.

Lordswood’s vice-chairman Paul Caulfield, said in a statement: "Darren has advised due to extra work commitments and a desire to spend more time with his family, that he wishes to take a break away from football which is completely understandable.

“We would like to thank Darren and Owen for all their time and efforts last season.

“They came on board at a difficult time and didn't have long to raise a competitive squad for the 2019/20 season.

“They achieved some noticeable performances and results to ensure we remained comfortable in the league and highlighted their potential.

“We wish them both the very best in their future management careers.

"An announcement regarding the first-team manager position will be made shortly."
