The aim for the remainder of the season is to obviously finish as high as possible and to perform consistently, says Lordswood manager Richard Styles
LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says he will blood some of the clubs younger players in against Crowborough Athletic tomorrow.
After losing 2-0 at K Sports on 6 February, Lordswood have bounced back from that disappointing performance to beat Hollands & Blair 3-1 before coming away from Bearsted with a 1-0 win last weekend.
Lordswood now sit the top eight in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 38 points on the board from their 25 league outings.
Sean Muggeridge’s Crows, meanwhile, arrive at Martyn Grove sitting in fourteenth-place in the table with 34 points from their 27 league games.
“We host Crowborough Athletic tomorrow, which is never an easy game when we play them and I’m expecting no different but we’re looking forward to it,” said Styles.
“We take the result against Hollands & Blair and the 1-0 win last Saturday against Bearsted into the game and must keep our performance levels high and where they have been for the past two games.
“We moved up an incredible five places with the win on Saturday and went from 12th to eighth, which just shows how tight the league is and how important it is to get points on the board and have a positive goal difference.”
When asked what his targets are for their final 13 games, Styles replied: “The aim for the remainder of the season is to obviously finish as high as possible and to perform consistently.
“We have some big games coming up that could have a say in how the league ends up and we aim to do all we can.
“I have a good squad with ability and changing room I’m proud off as well as a number of reserve and youth players knocking on the door and I aim to blood these into first team football before the end of the season.”
