There's no pressure on my boys but Glebe are expected to be up there at the end of the season so that's a different type of pressure on them, says Lordswood boss Neil Hunter
LORDSWOOD manager Neil Hunter says there’s no pressure on his inconsistent players going into their game at Glebe tomorrow.
Gary Alexander’s side are underperforming in the bottom four in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with a point from their opening three games.
Lordswood, meanwhile, are a couple of places higher and have collected three points from their opening four games.
Lordswood suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Welling Town last Saturday.
Kevin Oakes’ side are sitting top of the pile with four wins out of four, going into tomorrow’s top-of-the-table-clash at Tunbridge Wells.
“Last week against Welling Town was a little harsh to say the least. Key decisions from the first minute went against us but they took their chances,” said Hunter.
“Our keeper played on with an injury for 65 minutes and we had to change our centre-back at half-time as he was injured from the first five minutes, so overall, anything that could go wrong, went wrong.
“That’s not taking anything away from Welling Town though, as they are a decent side.”
Looking ahead to their trip to Chislehurst tomorrow, Hunter said: “We’re looking forward to another tough game tomorrow against a very experienced Glebe side.
“As I’ve said over the past few weeks, we’re going to have good and bad days as we’re a brand new squad but I know these boys give us 120% every week.
“As for Glebe, they’ve got ex-pros playing and an ex-professional who manages them so it’s going to be another game we go and look forward to.
“There’s no pressure on my boys as the club know what we’re trying to achieve.
“Glebe are expected to be up there at the end of the season, so that’s a different type of pressure on them.
“We will go there and give it a good go like we did at Corinthian, so we look forward to the game with no fear.”
