Lydd Town appoint James Rogers and Tom Wynter as joint-managers while Steve Ives returns to Tunbridge Wells to manage the side
LYDD TOWN have appointed James Rogers and Tom Wynter as joint-managers only two days before the club makes their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division debut.
The Lydders celebrated winning the First Division play-offs in Mikey Doyle’s final game in charge of the club after finishing in third place in the table and joining champions Snodland Town in the ninth-tier of English football for the first time.
The club eagerly awaits the visit of Bromley-based side Holmesdale to Dengemarsh Road on Saturday for Rogers’ and Wynter’s first game in joint-charge of the club.
“The decision to appoint James Rogers and Tom Wynter was made after careful consideration,” said a club statement.
“Both manager’s bring a wealth of experience and success to the table, having demonstrated their abilities during their tenure at Hythe Town in 2021.
“Lydd Town firmly believes that their expertise will serve the club well during this exciting journey ahead.”
The pair will be joined by the existing management team of Owen Kessack and Dexter Gondongwe, who will continue in their current roles.
“Their commitment and dedication have been instrumental in the team’s success thus far and their collaboration with the new joint-managers is expected to create a dynamic and cohesive leadership unit,” added the statement.
“The club wishes to extend its heartfelt congratulations to Rogo and Wyns on their new roles and express utmost confidence in the entire management team.
“As they take charge of the team, the players, coaching staff and fans are filled with optimism and enthusiasm for what lies ahead in the season.
“Lydd Town calls upon its supporters to rally behind the new managerial team, embracing this fresh chapter with unwavering support and fervor.
“Together, we shall create an atmosphere that propels the team to new heights and fosters an environment of success and achievement.
“As the season unfolds, Lydd Town is eager to witness the team’s progress under the guidance of the joint-managers, along with the continued efforts of the existing management team.
“The club wholeheartedly believes that this united approach, combined with the collective effort of the players, staff and fans, will lead to success and memorable achievements.
“The club extends its gratitude to everyone for their continued support and looks forward to a memorable season filled with excitement, passion and triumph.”
Meanwhile, Tunbridge Wells appointed Steve Ives as their new manager on Monday.
Ives, who was Luke Carpenter’s assistant manager last season, briefly left Culverden Stadium to become AFC Uckfield Town’s manager in June but has decided to return to the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side.
Carpenter guided Tunbridge Wells to an eighth-place finish in Carpenter’s only season in charge of the club.
Tunbridge Wells welcome Hollands & Blair to Culverden Stadium on the opening day.
