Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders sends Jack Harris and Orlando Smith out on loan

MAIDSTONE UNITED manager Jay Saunders has sent a couple of players out on loan to lower league clubs.Former Tunbridge Wells’ striker, Jack Harris, 20, has joined Ryman League Division One South side Faversham Town on an initial one-month loan deal.
Harris is a familiar face at Salters Lane having spent time on loan there last season.
Either side of that he made 22 appearances for Maidstone United, starting ten and a dozen from the bench.
Saunders told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk: “What Jack needs is some game time. He did really well at Faversham last season and came back all fired up.
“With minutes and hopefully some goals under his belt he can return here full of confidence and challenge for a place in the squad.”
Faversham Town boss Ray Turner, who last week snapped up Josh Stanford upon his return to England after playing for Albany Creek Excelsior in Australia, following his move from England where he scored Tunbridge Wells’ only goal in their FA Vase Final defeat to Spennymoor Town in 2012, is pleased to get Harris on loan.
“In terms of front players, I’m really happy now,” Turner told www.favershamtownfc.co.uk.
“We’ve got a good relationship with Maidstone and Jack has found himself on the bench at the start of the season, but he’s got everything to make it at that level and hopefully he can help us and we can help him.”
Stones’ winger Orlando Smith, meanwhile, has signed on dual-registration with Southern Counties East Football League side Sevenoaks Town.
He links up with Micky Collins, who was his manager at Erith & Belvedere when The Deres won the Kent League and Cup double in 2013.
Saunders added: “Orlando’s fought back from a bad injury but is lacking match fitness.
“Sevenoaks is a good opportunity for him. He knows Micky Collins well and Micky knows how to get the best out of Orlando and get him back to where he was before the injury.”
