McMahon very pleased with Thamesmead's start

THAMESMEAD TOWN boss Keith McMahon says he’s confident going into Saturday’s FA Cup first qualifying round tie against unbeaten side Windsor & Eton, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Royalists travel to Bayliss Avenue sitting in second place in the Zamaretto League Division One South & West table, with a record of three wins and two draws from their first five games.
But McMahon’s men are doing well themselves in Ryman League Division One North, and go into the game sitting in third place with a record of four wins and one draw from their first six games.
“It should be a tough game,” McMahon, speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk today. “It should be a good game, should be very close. They play in the same level as us, they’re a very experienced side, so it’s going to be a good test for us.”
Reflecting on his side’s start, McMahon is pleased, although he admits there’s still a long way to go before the poorly supported Bayliss Avenue club can start celebrating success.
“We’re still third in the league ourselves, two points off top so we’re going to be confident,” said McMahon.
“We’ve had a great start. I think we should be three points better of than we are. On the other hand we shouldn’t get carried away. Let’s see where we are after ten games, then again at Christmas and we can go from there.
“It’s important not to run away with things.”
