McShane will not let us down, insists Daish
Daish has signed Peterborough's Luke McShane on loan and he made his debut during last night’s 1-1 draw at Crawley Town.
It is McShane's second loan spell at Stonebridge Road and his arrival softens the blow of losing Cronin who has played a major part in helping the Fleet into the play off places this season and recently won international recognition when he appeared for the National Game XI against Holland.
It is the Fleet's second loan signing in a week, following the arrival of Southend United prodigy, Joel Ledgister, 18.
Twenty two year old Alex Varney has also signed for the Fleet after being released by Charlton Athletic at the end of last season and joins a growing contingent of former Addicks at the club alongside Mark DeBolla, Mark Rickettts, Charlie MacDonald, Onome Sodje, and Stacy Long.
"It's very frustrating for Lance" Daish told www.gnfc.co.uk. "He's been outstanding for us this season and his international recognition was well deserved.
“This is obviously a setback but Luke will not let us down. He's been here before and will be familiar with the surroundings so he should settle in quickly."
Daish, whose side welcomes Stevenage Borough to Stonebridge Road on Saturday, added: "Joel has lightning pace and is a very exciting prospect who we are fortunate to have brought in. Alex has been training with us and is itching to be involved in a game."
